Why I built this

Meal Decider started as a fix for a problem I kept running into on repeat: it's 5:30, everyone's hungry, and I've got nothing. Or it's the night before school and the lunchbox is somehow still a mystery. I didn't want another recipe blog to scroll through — I wanted something that just picked something reasonable, fast, and let me move on with my evening.

So I built one. It's a nights-and-weekends project, made and maintained by a single person (hi!), not a company. There's no sign-up, no account, no clutter — just a quick way to land on something for dinner or the lunchbox, save the ones you like, and build a shopping list without much thinking.

What Meal Decider does

Pick Dinner or Lunchbox, set a few quick filters if you want (time, diet, picky-eater friendly), and either browse matches or hit "Surprise Me." Save the ones worth repeating, drop them into a weekly plan, and build a shopping list from whatever you've planned — all without creating an account.

🎲

Surprise Me

One tap when you can't decide — skips the scrolling.

How it stays free

Meal Decider doesn't charge for access and never will for the core tool. Some links (like "Shop this list") are affiliate links — if you use them to buy groceries, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's what covers hosting and the domain, and it's spelled out fully on the Terms & Affiliate Disclosure page.

Your data

Everything you save lives in your own browser, not on a server I run. More detail on that is on the Privacy Policy page.
