Privacy Policy

The short version

Meal Decider doesn't have accounts, doesn't run on a server-side database, and doesn't collect or sell your personal information. Everything you save — meal plans, favorites, filters — stays in your own browser. We only see something about you if you choose to email us.

What we collect

Meal Decider is a static tool that runs entirely in your browser. We don't have user accounts, sign-ups, or a database of visitors. There is nothing to "collect" in the traditional sense.

When you save a favorite, build a weekly plan, or set a dietary filter, that information is stored using your browser's built-in localStorage — a small amount of data kept on your own device. It never gets sent to us or to any server. If you clear your browser data, switch devices, or use a different browser, that saved information won't carry over, because it was never anywhere but your device.

If you contact us

If you email hello@weeklymealdecider.com, we'll see your email address and whatever you write to us. We use that only to reply to you, and we don't add it to any mailing list or share it with anyone else.

Cookies

Meal Decider does not use tracking cookies of its own. The localStorage described above is not a cookie and isn't used to track you across other sites — it just remembers your own plan on your own device.

Site analytics

We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to see basic aggregate traffic — things like how many people visited and which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't collect any personal information like your name or email address. You can read more about how it works at goatcounter.com/help/privacy.

Affiliate links & third-party sites

Meal Decider participates in the Amazon Associates Program and may link out to Instacart and other retail or recipe partners. When you click one of these links, you leave our site and the third party's own privacy policy and cookie practices apply — we don't control, and don't receive, the data those sites collect. As a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, we may earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

Advertising

Meal Decider does not currently show ads. If that changes in the future (for example, by adding Google AdSense), this policy will be updated first to explain what cookies or similar technology an ad provider uses and how you can opt out where available. The "Last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.

Children's privacy

Meal Decider is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us directly via email, let us know at the address below and we'll delete the message.

Your choices

Because your plan data lives only in your browser, you're always in control of it: clearing your browser's site data, using a private/incognito window, or using the app's own "Clear plan" controls will remove it. There's no account to delete because none exists.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as Meal Decider grows — for example, when a new affiliate partner or advertising feature is added. Any changes will be posted here with an updated date at the top of the page.
